 What is the mission of Cipriani After-School Care, Inc.? Our mission at Cipriani After-School Care, Inc. (CASC, Inc.) is to provide infants, children, youth and their families, quality programs in a safe, nurturing and enriching environment, through caring and professional staff and family involvement. Back to top  How many children are enrolled, and what's the child-adult ratio? The 12-year-old organization is comprised of five licensed sites: one infant, toddler, preschool and pre-kindergarten program, two school-age and two middle school programs with 30 staff serving approximately 300 children and youth year-round. Our adult to child ratio is approximately 1:3 for infant and toddlers, 1:8 for preschool, and pre-kindergarten, 1:10 for children in grades kindergarten to 2nd, 1:12 for grades 3rd through 5th, and 1:14 for middle school youth. Back to top What is your admissions policy? Cipriani After-School Care, Inc. is non-discriminatory in admission. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or mental or physical ability. Our programs serve children and youth, infant through eighth grade. A parent or guardian is required to visit the site for an orientation before the child attends. If you cannot attend the scheduled orientation, please set up an individual orientation before your child's first day. Back to top Do you take children with special needs? Children who have special needs are considered for admission on an individual basis. The Site Director will meet with the parent or guardian before enrollment to determine if the program is the best environment for the child. Upon enrollment, staff and parents will continue to meet regularly to monitor the child's progress and discuss how best to support the child. It is sometimes necessary to redirect children and their families, especially if we do not have facilities or staff to work with the child's needs. In these cases, the Site Director and the child's parent or guardian will decide if the center can properly meet the needs of the child. Back to top Are you licensed? Yes. Can I come by during the day to see my child? Cipriani After-School Care, Inc. has an open door policy. You are welcome to visit at any time during the course of the program day. We thrive from the help, talent and skills of the family volunteers who participate in a variety of ways. If you have skills, talents or contacts to share please let us know. Back to top Who can I talk to about my child's progress and behavior? We encourage staff members and families to get to know each other. Each site has pictures of the staff posted on the family bulletin board. Please feel free to get to know our staff and ask questions about your child's day. However, we ask that you be aware staff must supervise children and concentrate on this task. Each site director has a cell phone number, which is listed in this handbook. Back to top Do you offer discounts to families with more than one child? A 5% sibling discount is given to families enrolling two or more children, applicable to each child enrolled in a Cipriani After-School Care, Inc. site. Back to top If I can't afford the full fee, do you offer financial assistance? We strive to meet the needs of all children enrolled in our childcare programs, within the limitations of our budget. Fee subsidies are awarded to families who qualify, provided subsidy money is available at the time of the request. Families must apply for financial assistance on an annual basis and all financial information given to Cipriani After-School Care, Inc. must be true and correct. Families are responsible for providing updated information regarding income as it changes during the year. Back to top Is there a waiting list? How long will it take for my child to get into your program? Availability varies for each site, depending on the time of year.
