Janice Morimoto Site DirectorJanice Morimoto has worked in Early Childhood Education (ECE) since 1986. She has spent many of those years in administrative positions both developing and implementing programs. Janice holds a Bachelor's of Science in Human Development, with a minor in Education from UC Davis. The emphasis of her degree is in children, conception through age five. She continues to take additional ECE classes to stay updated in the field. In April 2008, The Child Care Coordinating Council of San Mateo County (4Cs) presented Janice the 2008 Mary Elizabeth Griffin Children's Award, an award commissioned by the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors and given in honor of Mary Elizabeth Griffin's commitment to children. Janice was selected through a community nomination process. The $2,500 grant accompanying the award will support her vision to continue to create curriculum that encourages children to explore education through all their senses; purchase more equipment; and provide staff training and team building activities. Janice loves spending time with her family and friends. She is the mother of three children. Her hobbies include quilting, cooking and embroidery. "I feel very privileged to be able to work with children. I love learning from them. It makes every day exciting and different. I can't think of anything that I would rather do than spend my time working with children. I love knowing that I can have a positive effect on the children I interact with. Thank you for letting me be a part of your child's life." Back to top |
